Gold Coast Triathlon – Test event for the 2009 Gold Coast ITU Triathlon World Championships

The Event organizers, USM Events, held their test event this month, the Gold Coast Triathlon - Luke Harrop Memorial race which also doubled as the ITU Oceania Championships. With a very similar course, athletes were able to get a firsthand experience of what the ITU Triathlon World Championships will bring in September.

Brad Kahlefeldt took out the Oceania title and had this to say post race about the course.

“It’s a good course – flat and fast with some technical element. I definitely want to win the World Champs and will be working towards that goal during the year,” said Kahlefeldt.

Dollar Update

If you have been following the current world’s economic situation you will know that the Australian dollar is quite low at the moment and therefore any international travelers should be taking advantage of the situation and booking as soon as you can!

On the 5th March 09 $100.00 AUD was equal to approximately $64 USD, €51 Euro, or 45 GBP. For the current dollar conversions check out www.xe.com.
